Srinagar: Over 800 players from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the first ever three-day State Jeet Kune Do championship at S K Indoor Stadium Complex in the summer capital, Srinagar.
The state level tournament, which is a stepping stone for the players to participate in the upcoming National Federation Cup to be held in the valley in the month of July, was concluded on Saturday.
Several top players, who have represented J&K and India at various national and international events, dazzled the audience with their entertaining demonstrations during the closing ceremony.
Hafsa Bhatt, showcased self-defence techniques and body flexibility while Mohammad Shayan demonstrated Tuls (combination of martial art steps) on the occasion.
I would like to congratulate the organizers for such an amazing event. I would advise them to work with the zeal and dedication they organized this event so that there game is entered in the state sports council, Joint secretory J&K Nazir Ahmad, chief guest of the event.
The event was a grand success. With the grace of God we were able to successfully complete the first ever Jeet Kune Do championship despite many hardships. Over 800 participants from different districts, representing various schools, colleges and clubs are participating in this State championship, Adnan Ayoub, the organizing secretory of the event said.
He said the Federation national cup of Jeet Kune Do martial art is also scheduled to be held in the summer capital in the month of July, where over 600 participants from around 20 different states
