In his address to the students at Delhi University’s SRCC, Narendra Modi rightly talked about the overwhelming feeling of pessimism prevailing in the country. The nation awaits true freedom in the form of good governance, he rightly observed. Referring to Gujarat’s progress, he told the young audience that the State’s model was based on being pro-people as well as ensuring good governance. He correctly surmised that the biggest challenge was to use human resources to their full potential. Today, human resources and natural resources are being brutally squandered in many States with the Centre watching helplessly and impotently.
The farcical protest by a section of students outside Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce ( SRCC) against Modi appeared to be stage-managed. The UPA is apparently getting jitters about the growing popularity of the NDA, in general, and Narendra Modi, in particular, across the country. The Congress party has failed to tackle economic problems effectively. It has not been able to effectively contain its corrupt party men. It has failed to assure the people that the nation is well-protected against external and internal enemies. The youth have been disillusioned by the Congress. Rahul Gandhi is too naïve to comprehend the humungous problems facing the country. The country knows that the corrupt in the UPA will take him for a ride. On the other hand, Narendra Modi has projected himself as a no nonsense leader. The Congress has dealers while the NDA has leaders.
