SrinagarDelhi Public School Srinagar players gave a good account of themselves in the Thang Ta Martial Art Nationals held at Rohtak Haryana. According to the statement from the schools media wing, DPS Srinagar bagged three medals in the three-day championship which was organized by Thang Ta Federation of Haryana under the aegis of Thang Ta Federation of India.
Sairah Zahoor pocketed the gold medal while Shariba returned him with a silver. Bariq also impressed with a bronze to his name.
The statement said that the players were trained under the watchful and expert eyes of Unjuman Farooq who is herself a national award winning Thang Ta player.
Speaking on the occasion Unjuman Farooq said, The medal winning performance again highlight the quality of our training program. At DPS, we ensure that the students are identified for potential, and groomed to shine in the field.
Chairman Vijay Dhar has also expressed his delight at the rich haul, and noted it as a vindication of the schools attempts to establish a sporting culture to offset the gloom of circumstances.
