SRINAGAR: Tragedy struck a remote Rajouri village on Wednesday when two small children were killed in an explosion.
Unconfirmed reports said that the blast in the Barhoon village of the Thana Mandi tehsil was caused by a hand-grenade this morning.
The victims have been identified as nine-year-old Shezeena Kausar and her seven-year-old brother Khursheed Hussain who were walking to school.
Details of the explosion were sketchy as the village is located in a far-flung area of the frontier district.
A police party was learnt to have been dispatched to ascertain the facts of the incident.
Media reports suggested that the blast took place close to an army camp.
Meanwhile, a top officer of the Border Security Force said that there had been no incidents of infiltration across the LoC and the international border in the Jammu province in the past six months.
