SRINAGAR: One person was killed in Baramulla last week in a clash between two families over the kidnapping of a minor girl, the police said on Monday.
The incident occurred on January 26 in the Dandmoh, Chandoosa, it said.
The victim was identified as Ghulam Muhammad Khanday, an uncle of the kidnapped girl, it said.
A case of kidnapping had earlier been filed against one Shabir Ahmad Parray of Kralpora, Pattan.
The police said that the clash in Dandmoh had been brought under control, and a case registered 302 of the RPC, even as the body had been handed over to the family for last rites after legal formalities.
