SRINAGAR: Pattan police has arrested four persons, including two women, on charges of human trafficking, reports said today.
According to the police, the accused were involved in luring womenfolk from outside and selling them in Jammu and Kashmir.
It said that those arrested were a part of a wider network, and more people would be taken into custody soon.
Two of those put behind bars have been identified as Altaf Ahmad Dar and Nazir Ahmad Ganai, both from Pattan.
According to the police, the duo had brought two women, Sajida and Rashida, from Jharkhand, and sold them to Lateef Ahmad and Bashir Ahmad Dar of Trikol Bal for Rs 10,000 each.
