JAMMU- The government contemplates to purchase 200 new ambulances for various hospitals besides considering enhancement in the leave reserved cum deputation posts of doctors from 4 percent to 25 percent to suffice the requirement of medicos in the health institutions especially in remote and hilly areas which still lacks proper patient care facilities.
This was stated by the Minister while chairing maiden meeting of Health department after assuming the charge of State Health Services held here today.
The Minister said that State governments proposal of Rs. 14 crore for purchase of these new ambulances is under active consideration of the Union Health Ministry and it is expected that funds would be received soon.
The Minister issued instruction for cancelation of all attachments in the department and directed the concerned authorities that orders in this regard should be issued and implemented hence forth. He said that patient care is priority of the government and any negligence in this regard would be viewed seriously.
The Minister directed concerned authorities to ensure time bound completion of all ongoing health projects and added that any cost escalation in this regard would not be tolerated. He said carelessness of executing agencies in delaying these vital works will be dealt seriously.

M K Dwividi, Director Health Services, Jammu, Madhu Kollar, Director Family Welfare,Dr, Kuldeep Kujori, Director NRHM, Dr. Yash Sharma, Director ISM, Dr. Ab Kabeer, Drug Controllar, Dr. Satash Gupta, Manging Director Housing Corporation, General Manger JKPCC, Superintendent R&B, Jammu, Project Director Aids Control Society, Joint Director Planing Health department ,besides Chief Medical Officers of all districts of the division attended the meeting.
The Minister instructed the concerned agencies to engage the services of reputed consultants and architects for designing the projects and formulation of project reports to construct maternal and child health centers in the State. He said that government intends to extend these health services in all the districts and for the purpose project reports for construction of such hospital in 8 districts would be submitted for Centre funding in first phase.
The Minister issued strict instructions for maintaining dress code in hospitals, besides asking for physical verification of the assets of the hospitals by the higher authorities. He directed for ensuring essential drug supplies in the hospitals , especially full medicine supply of life savings drugs in far off hospitals and health centers.
The Minister received detailed briefing of various welfare health programmes taken up under the flagship programme NRHM in the State, besides physical and financial achievements registered by various wings of the department in Jammu division.He was apprised by the director NRHM that this fiscal the department has received Rs.166 crore from the Centre under NRHM, against which Rs. 93 lakh have been expended on development of health infrastructure and other healthcare schemes in the state so far .The meeting was informed that 10 major health projects involving estimated cost of Rs.204 crore have been taken up under this flagship mission in Jammu division since its inception. These projects also included construction of Ayurveda collage cum hospital, Aknoor, additional block Ayurveda hospital jammu, District hospital Samba, Sub District Hospitals, Gondho,Aknoor, Bishna, R S pora, ANM School Reasi, Kishtwar.The Director Health Services, Jammu also in her power point presentation, gave a detailed resume of physical and financial achievements in the meeting.
