JAMMU Governor Mr. N. N. Vohra has observed that Jammu and Kashmir has a vast treasure of historical sites and heritage buildings of tremendous tourist interest which need to be conserved and protected in a scientific manner.
The Governor was discussing with Mr. Saleem Beg, Convener, INTACH, Jammu and Kashmir Chapter, at Raj Bhavan here this evening, about the activities of the INTACH in the State, the present status of formulating and implementing the various projects related to the conservation of heritage buildings and sites, and INTACHs future plan of action.
Mr. Beg briefed the Governor about the initiatives being taken by the INTACH for the preservation of the rich history and heritage of the State, the plans already formulated and those presently under implementation.
