SrinagarThe Department of Teacher Education, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) organized a one-day environmental field visit for the students to Dachigam National Park and Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden.
Around 95 students participated in the event and were guided by Dr. Abdul Qayoom Shah, Dr. Gawhar Ahmad Bhat, Mr. Reyaz Ahmad Wani and Mr. Abdul Mohsin Bhat.
The main objectives of the visit were to develop understanding, through first-hand experience, about the need and importance of natural environment for protecting and preserving different forms of life, realization of the magnitude of degradation of natural environment due to over exploitation of natural resources and development of sensitivity and positive attitude towards protecting the natural environment.
The students took interest in learning about various forms of wildlife. The visit was undertaken on the directions of Prof. N.A. Nadeem, Dean, School of Education, CUK and Prof. Nighat Basu, Coordinator, Depart Education.
