Srinagar: Minister of State in Prime Ministers Office Jitendra Singh Sunday termed the Kashmir problem ‘an accumulative outcome of the mistakes committed by the Congress’.
Speaking to media ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) first ever Executive Meet here at SKICC, Singh said, BJP has a clear stand on Kashmir and there should be no doubt in it.
Our approach is based on consistency, clarity and conviction. We are trying to clear the mess created by Congress in its 60 years of rule. The mess created by successive governments of Congress which began right from the dawn of Independence with the infamous Nehru (vian) blunders,” he said.
He said the BJP doesnt need lectures from leaders like and would rather remind him (P Chidambaram) that the kind of situation Kashmir is passing currently is an accumulative outcome of the axe of omission and commission committed by his party.
The BJP leader said he does not think the nation allows a former home minister the privilege to deliver sermons on his own axe of omission and commission.
Dr Singh made his remarks after Chidamabaram had stated that those people of Jammu and Kashmir who ask for ‘azadi’ actually seek greater autonomy.
In 2010, Chidambaram as Home Minister had appointed three interlocutors- journalist Dilip Padgaonkar, Prof M. M. Ansari, Information Commissioner and Prof. Radha Kumar, trustee of Delhi Policy Group- to hold dialogue with all the stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir, but that report submitted by the three interlocutors still awaits implementation.
