SrinagarCongress partys policy planning group is meeting on Thursday afternoon in New Delhi to discuss preparations and time of their last leg of Ladakh tour.
The group will meet under the chairmanship of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and will comprise of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary of AICC leaders Ambika Soni, Ghulam Nabi Azad, State PCC chief G A Mir, Senior leader Tariq Karra and former home minister P Chidambaram.
A senior Congress leader privy to the development told KNS that the meeting will discuss preparations and day for visiting Ladakh region, besides the prevailing situation in the state.
The group, headed by Manmohan Singh, was constituted by party chief Sonia Gandhi in May this year to take concrete steps regarding resolution of Kashmir issue.
The group comprising nine leaders, including Singh has been constituted with the aim to hold dialogue with all stakeholders and help in peace building.
The group visited the Kashmir and Jammu regions last month and met nearly 1200 delegations during the visits.
The group will form report after visiting Ladakh region where it will hear people of the region and submit it to the party president for future action, the leader told KNS.
Besides Manmohan Singh, other leaders in the group include Rajya Sabha MP Karan Singh, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, General Secretary of AICC, Ambika Soni, JKPCC Chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Senior Congress leader, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Senior Congress leader and former MP, Tariq Hameed Karra, and senior Congress leader, Shyam Lal Sharma.
