SrinagarState Football League 2017 witnessed a couple of draws with J&K Forest and Food & Supplies (F&S) XI having to share points in their premier division fixture, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir Football Association said on Saturday. A super division fixture between Lone Star Kashmir Football Club Blue and Young Maharaja Football Club also gave same results with teams pocketing a point each.
The game between J&K Forest and Food & Supplies (F&S) XI played at Synthetic Turf Ground TRC ended with a 1-1. Right from the start of the match, both the teams played aggressive football and attacked each others goalposts frequently. But it was F&S team who broke the shackles in the 5th minute of the play, when Imran breached the defence lines of Forest team and ensured his team takes an early lead.
After conceding the lead the Forest players stepped up their attacks on the F&S goalpost and in the 37th minute of the play they scored an equaliser through Rizwan. The first half ended with score line reading 1-1. As the second half began, both the teams played defensive football for most of the times which resulted in no more goals being scored. The match ended in a 1-1 draw and it was a fair result for both the teams. Yasin of F&S team was declared as player of the match.
The Super Division match of the day, played at Synthetic Turf TRC, also ended in a 1-1 draw between Lone Star KFC Blue and Young Maharaja FC. In the closely contested match, both the teams missed several scoring opportunities throughout the 90-minutes of the play. In first half no team was able to score as defence lines of both the teams thwarted all the moves to score by the opposite team.
In the second half, no team could score in the first 25 minutes and it seemed that the match was heading for a goalless draw when all of a sudden Nadeem Ahmad of Lone Star team managed to send one straight into the goalpost of Maharaja team. However, seeing their team trailing, the Maharaja players summed up all their energy and launched several counter attacks on the goal post of Lone Star team. For fifteen minutes, Lone Star defenders didn’t allow the Maharaja players to breach the defence line. However, in the 85th minute of the match, Owais managed to score an all important goal for Maharaja Sports through a penalty kick. In the last five minutes of the match, both teams desperately tried to score, but failed to do so. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
