SrinagarLone Star Kashmir Football Club (LSKFC) and Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) had to share points after playing out a 1-1 draw in their premier division fixture of State Football League 2017 played at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir Football Association said on Wednesday.
The high voltage encounter between the two evenly matched teams proved a delight for the hundreds of spectators as they were enthralled with the quality of football displayed by both the teams throughout the 90-minutes. Before the play started the spectators were cheering for their favourite players and the atmosphere in the ground was electrifying. Akib from Loner Star team and Rehbar of Real Kashmir team have so far been the players of the tournament as they have won the hearts of football fans with their quality play. Both the teams have been heavily remained heavily dependent on the performance of these two budding footballers.
As the play started, the forward lines of both the talented teams attacked against each other’s goal post but the defence lines ensured that no damage was done. Though Lone Star team made more attacks in the first half, they couldn’t score any goal and the score line at the half time read 0-0. In the second half Real Kashmir players geared up and made frequent attacks on the opposite goal post and in the 65th minute Arun Nagiyal sent a powerful long range shot into the goal post of LSKFC.
With a goal in arrears, LSKFC didn’t lose heart and kept on playing aggressive football. They were rewarded in the 80th minute of the play thanks to a penalty. Hanan without any mistake converted it into a goal and scoring an equalizer. In the last 10 minutes of the game, players from both the teams made desperate attempts to score but failed to do so and when the referee blew the final whistle the score line read 1-1. It was a fair result for both the teams, considering they missed several scoring opportunities. Arun of Lone Star team was declared player of the match for his performance.
Meanwhile, B-Division league of the ongoing State Football League is already completed with IFC Nowgam winning the title and Noorbagh FC finishing as runners up. More than 50 percent match of the Super and Premier Division league have been completed till date. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
