SrinagarThe T-20 cricket tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police for girls was won by Govt Higher Secondary School girls defeating Athkar Public High School Bhaderwah in the finals on Tuesday played at Bhaderwah.
According to an official statement, the tournament was organised under JKPs Civic Action Programme which aims to keep the youth away from social evils besides keeping them mentally and physically sound. The winning team was awarded a cash prize 5000 while the runner up team was rewarded with cash Rs 2000 .ASP Bhaderwah Rajinder Singh said that from last few years J&K Police has been organizing events to provide platform to youth for excelling in different fields. Thousands of spectators were present during the match to cheer for their team. Divisional Forest Officer Bhaderwah Viveak Verma was the Chief Guest on the occasion on the valedictory function, who later-on distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams while ASP Rajinder Singh , SDPO Brijesh Sharma , SHO Muneer Khan , Abdul Haq , Naseer Mehboob , CRPF officers also attended the programme.
