SrinagarHurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani Monday expressed deep concern over the increasing braid chopping incidents and said that it has given rise to scare and fear as now burglary and stone pelting on residential houses by miscreants has added to public misery.
Denouncing authorities for suggesting that the braid chopping victims will have to undergo lie detection tests and narco analysis, Hurriyat said that the victims are already traumatised and subjecting them to various tests is one more ploy to humiliate them. It is deceit and a well-thought out ploy to shield criminals, said Hurriyat.
It is surprising that after a period of one month, authorities are still saying that they will nab these criminals and are asking people for their cooperation, it said.
APHC said that people are patrolling their localities to nab these miscreants and as soon as culprits are nabbed, police comes to their rescue, declaring them innocents and let them free without any further investigation or enquiry.
Spokesman in his appeal to people directed them to constitute vigilant Mohalla committees and advised them to handover suspicious elements to trusted committee members for further investigations, so that authorities dont get an opportunity to shield these criminals, the statement said.
Conspiracy to Suppress True Sentiments: Farooq
Reacting over unabated braid chopping incidents here in Kashmir Valley, National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah said that these conspiracies were hatched in past as well to suppress the true sentiments of people.
He appealed people to get united to expose the criminals indulging in such acts. This is a conspiracy to suppress the sentiments of people of Kashmir. This conspiracy has been hatched to harass common people who have already witnessed hell in Valley, Farooq Abdullah said.
He said it is a direct attack on the dignity and honour of our sisters, daughters and mothers. This is unacceptable to us and we ought to get united to expose the elements behind it, Farooq Abdullah said.
