ShopianA Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) activist was killed after he was fired upon by militants in Imamsahab area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday evening. In the ensuing scuffle one militant also died, according to police.
Police said that the militants fired upon Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh (50) near his residence at Huomhuna, Imamsahab at around 8:05 pm. The gunmen took Sheikh outside his house and shot him from point blank range.
Sheikh, a Halqa President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was shifted to nearby Zainpora Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, he said.

According to a local news agency GNS, a scuffle that broke out near the house of the deceased PDP activist resulting in one more death

Quoting SSP Shopian AS Dinkar, the report said that a militant Showkat Ahmad Kumhar died in the scuffle.
Showkat wanted the militants to shoot Ramzan in his leg but they refused and this resulted in scuffle. The militants shot dead their associate Showkat Kumar of Trenz and he has died, the SSP said. DGP Dr SP Vaid too claimed in a tweet that the militant was killed in scuffle.
