Srinagar, Central Wildlife Division of Department of Wildlife Protection observed Wildlife Week-2017 at the Nature Interpretation Center of Dachigam National Park.
An inter-school debate was organized for students on the theme Challenges faced by State in Wildlife Conservation, along with a field visit of the participants. Students from various government and private schools participated in the competition.
Director School Education Kashmir, who was chief guest, said that the objective of organizing the competitions is to bring awareness to the students about the climatic changes and gradual loss of wildlife from the environment.
Regional Wildlife Warden Kashmir, Chief Education Officer Srinagar and Deputy Conservator of Forest and Wildlife Warden also spoke on the occasion. They highlighted the need of wildlife preservation for overall development and progress of human race.
