SrinagarRahim Green Solina FC played a goalless draw against Young Iqbal Sports in Super Division fixture while Premier Division game between Maharaja Sports and J&K State Power Development Corporation (J&KSPDC) also ended in a 1-1 draw in the State Football League 2017 played at TRC Synthetic Turf, Srinagar, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir Football Association said on Friday.
The Premier-Division game turned out a high voltage encounter in which neither of the two teams was ready to concede an inch to the opponents. Raja Musharraf opened the account for Maharaja Sports in the 11th minute and they managed the lead only till 38th minute of the game when equalizer for J&K SPDC came through Faizan. The teams went into half time break locked at 1-1.
In the second half, players from both the sides played aggressive football and made several attempts at each others goal posts. However, the defence lines of both the teams kept the forwards at bay and gave them no chances of scoring. When the referee blew the final whistle, the score line was 1-1. Gulzar of J&K SPDC Team was declared man of the match for his performance.
In Super-Division match also played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Rahim Green Solina DC played a goalless draw with Young Iqbal Sports. Both the teams played aggressively throughout the match, but couldnt convert the chances into scoring opportunities. When the referee blew the final whistle the score line read 0-0 and it was the fair result, considering that both the teams missed several opportunities to score.
According to the statement, more than 50 percent matches of the State Football League, a mega event first of its kind in the history of J&K football, have been completed till now. While B-Division league is already completed with IFC Nowgam winning the title and Noorbagh FC finishing as runners up, A-Division League has reached to the semi-final stage. Novelty Blue, Jehangir Club and Fort Club Views have already qualified for semi-finals, the fourth spot for semi-final will be decided in the match between Kashmir United and Fort View Club.
More than 50 percent match of the Super and Premier Division league have been completed till date. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
