SrinagarEven after three years the Government High School Chatoosa in Rafiabad area of north Kashmirs Baramulla, awaits its upgradation to Higher Secondary level despite a Cabinet order.
Three years ago, the State government had passed an order in the cabinet meeting to upgrade Government High School Chatoosa to Higher Secondary level.
The state government in the order under number 737-Edu of 2014 dated. 22/10/2014 directed the authorities to upgrade the Government High School Chatoosa to a higher secondary level.
The locals and the students according to KNS correspondent said that the administration has failed to follow the cabinet decision, resulting in immense sufferings to them.
They said that they are facing immense hardships in continuing their higher education as they are being forced to travel around 30 kilometres on daily basis to attend their higher secondary, situated in Dangiwacha area of the district.
The locals said that the High School is running from the past 50 years and have produced noted academicians, writers, doctors and engineers but the education department has ignored their repeated requests for upgradation of this school to higher secondary level.
It was after numerous representations from people of this area that state cabinet passed an order in 2014 to upgrade government high school Chatoosa but unfortunately the order is yet to be implemented, they said.
The locals especially the students appealed the department to implement the cabinet decision and upgrade this high school to higher secondary level so that students of the areas could feel a sigh of relief.
