SRINAGAR: To make Sarpanches of Valley well acquainted with Information Technology in use of various activities being carried out in Panchayat Raj Institutions, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIEIT), Rangreth, Srinagar imparted computer training to 200 Sarpanches of the Valley.
Director, Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Mr. Ayaz Hassan Moon, speaking while conducting the on line examination of the computer course organized fo4r making Sarpanchs familiar with Information Technology highlighted the importance of internet and internet for disseminating the information about various activities being carried out by the Panchayat Raj Institutions.
Moon emphasized upon the Sarpanches to update their knowledge about computers so that different centrally sponsored schemes can be implemented as per norms being prescribed in these schemes. He said that after the completion of on line computer course certificates shall be issued to them from NIEIT, New Delhi adding that computer education shall pave way for the better understanding of the Panchayat Raj system to the public representatives to perform their duties.
