SrinagarDemocratic Freedom Party expressed deep concern over the vengeful attitude of authorities in Tihar Jail against the Kashmiri political prisoners and said the people of Jammu Kashmir have already expressed resentment over the move as the families of these prisoners are going through a deep mental agony.
Terming the attitude of jail authorities against Kashmiri prisoners as based on political vengeance, the DFP said that there is a threat to life of prisoners.
The party expressed lament over the unsympathetic attitude of human rights bodies regarding the plight of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in various Indian jails including Tihar where they are being kept among notorious criminals. It said the incarceration of Kashmiri prisoners is being prolonged by slapping fabricated charges against them.
The Democratic Freedom Party while condemning charges against its chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah said the resistance leader is being kept among notorious criminals in Tihar Jail. On one hand, Shah is being detained on the basis of media trial and false propaganda against him, and on other, his detention period is being prolonged.
The attitude of the Enforcement Directorate and authorities against Shabir Shah is based on political vengeance and this is done for the clear stand he has maintained regarding the freedom movement, the party said
