SrrinagarChief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday visited the T-20 cricket tournament for girls being organized by State Cricket Academy under the auspices of J&K State Sports Council.
The Chief Minister watched a match for few moments and also interacted with the participant players.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Government has given a focused attention to sports and youth development activities in the State and so far 200 coaches have been engaged to train youth in various sports disciplines. She said over the past few years youth of the State have proved their mettle across the globe in various sports disciplines.
In all 13 teams are participating in the tournament which includes nine from Kashmir, three from Jammu and one from Ladakh region.
Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari; Secretary, State Sports Council, Waheed ur Rehman Parra and a large number of youth were present on the occasion.
