SrinagarWith the government receiving complaints about officials, involved in regular corrupt practices, it has been learnt that administrative heads have been asked to carry out fresh assessment of such employees and recommend action against them.
According to a report the high-level panel which was constituted by the government to examine the cases against the tainted officers will meet soon and examine the corruption complaints of officials.
The high-level panel will meet and examine the complaints individually, sources said.
Sources said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has categorically asked the top officials of the government to take strong action against tainted officials who do not mend their ways.
Sources maintained that the Chief Ministers secretariat has also received complaints of corruption practices in some government departments. Because of these complaints, the CM has herself asked administrative heads to recommend action against erring officials, sources said.
Sources believe that scores of officials from Revenue, engineering, health including government corporations are under the governments scanner.
According to the sources the number of complaints registered with State Vigilance Organization (SVO) against various Government functionaries is in hundreds and similarly the Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has also received huge number of corruption complaints.
Senior cabinet minister Abdul Rehman Veeri said that the government has already made it clear that it would not tolerate the officers and officials, whose integrity is doubtful.
Meanwhile sources within the government said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has directed all the heads of the departments to submit regular report to the government on implementation of government schemes.
The Chief Ministers office has observed that many central and state schemes are progressing slowly and that coordination between the government and the officials is essential for the success of the schemes, sources said.
Sources maintained that Chief Minister has also directed the heads of the departments to go for field visits in regular intervals and report to her directly on implementation of development projects.
Sources said that government has told the officials that their performance will be judged on the proper utilization of funds in various schemes and other developmental works.
Sources further added that the chief minister also has made it clear to the higher officers that laxity in the implementation of schemes meant for the welfare of common people will not be tolerated.
