Srinagar: Suspected militants killed a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan inside his house on Wednesday night.
Police said that militants entered into the house of constable Rameez Ahmad Parray at Parray Mohalla Hajin and shot him dead.
His father Ghulam Ahmad, brothers Mumtaz and Javaid and his aunt namely Habba Begum were also injured after they tried to save Rameez.
Rameez died on the spot while four other injured family members were rushed to hospital for treatment by neighbours.
Police told Kashmir Observer that Rameez, posted in Rajasthan had come home on vacation on August 26. He was shot at by three to four militants who barged into his house. Rameez had joined BSF in 2011.
The killing came a day after a top militant Qayoom Najar of neighbouring Sopore was killed by army near LOC. Police suspects this a revenge killing.
