SRINAGAR: To boost Kashmir’s heritage cottage industry particularly the handicrafts, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCC&I) has organised Kashmir Expo in New Delhi.
Expo is being held at Shilpi Haat, Rajiv Gandhi Handicrafts Bhawan, from 1st January to 14th January, 2013.
The said Expo was officially inaugurated by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, GOI on 2nd January.
The Expo would provide a platform to Craftsmen, Artisans and Entrepreneurs to exhibit rich heritage of handicrafts and also would be able to directly meet retail buyers from ever growing domestic market here in India, KCC&I spokesman said.
The Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) was extremely pleased at the arrangements made by the KCC&I. He assured the KCC&I that Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) is keen to sponsor similar events organised by KCC&I both nationally and internationally, he said.
The efforts are part of campaign by KCC&I to counter the counterfeits of Kashmiri Handicrafts, the spokesman said.
