SrinagarAmar Singh College Monday defeated Post Graduates by 59 runs in the third quarterfinals of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Inter-College Cricket Cup played at Islamia College ground.
Batting first after winning the toss, Amar Singh College were bowled out for 172 in 29.4 overs. Rahul Raees was the highest scorer for Amar Singh College making a 64-ball 87. Asif Ramzan contributed 24. For Post Graduates side, Shinain and Mehraj took three wickets each.
Chasing a target of 173, Post Graduates batsmen couldn’t withstand the accurate bowling of Amar Singh College and were shot out for 113 inside 24 overs. Irfan Ahmad was the substantial scorer for Post Graduates side with a 34-ball 31. Liyaqat Ahmad made 23 off 28 balls. For Amar Singh College, Adil Bashir snared four wickets and Aijaz Dar made three wickets.

At the start of the match the teams were introduced to the chief guest Prof. Muzafar Ahmed Khan the principal Islamia College.
Today, Islamia College Alumni team will play against Gandhi Memorial College and the winners of that match will play in the first semifinal on Wednesday against GDC Ganderbal. The tournament is being organised by the department of Physical Education Islamia College Srinagar.
