SrinagarA day-long workshop regarding the Swachh Survekshan-2018 was organized by the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir in association with the Srinagar Municipal Corporation here today.
Chief Architect, Dr. Humera Yaqoob from IMPARD (Resource Person), Anil Prakash, National PMU, Executive Engineer, TDDK, Chief Executive Officer/ Executive Officers of Municipal Councils/ Committees, Accounts Officer and other officers and staff of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, Sanitation officers/ Supervisors and Ward Officers of SMC were present on the occasion.
Every year, cities and towns across India are awarded the title of ‘Swachh Cities’ on the basis of their cleanliness and sanitation drive as a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan that was launched in 2014.
It was said that the Swachh Survekshan-2018 was launched on July 31, 2017 for all 4041 Urban Local Bodies throughout the country in which 500 cities with more than one lakh population will have All India ranking and 3541 cities with less than 1 lakh population will have the State and Zonal Rankings.
The field officer and stakeholders were sensitized about the indicators to be pursued/ evaluated during the Swachh Survekshan. The concerned were asked to take steps to achieve the set targets in order to meet the indicators requisite for the survey.
During the workshop, a special session for clarification of queries, resolution of issues, impediments was held.
Resource persons and experts answered various queries regarding the method and ways of Survekshan.
