SRINAGAR: Islamia College thumped Government Degree College Kulgam by 104 runs in their Inter-College Cricket T-20 tournament played at Government Degree College Anantnag ground. The quarterfinal tie between the two sides proved to be a lopsided tie with Islamia College showing their cricketing prowess over GDC Kulgam.
After winning the toss,IslamiaCollege captain decided to bat first and his batters didnt disappoint him with his side posting a mammoth 215 for the loss of three wickets. Skipper Kamran led from the front making an unbeaten 65 while Zaid contributed 48.
Chasing a stiff target of 216 runs, GDC Kulgam were shot out for juts 111 inside 14 overs. Kamran and Mehfooz took a brace of wickets each. Bilal took three wickets.
For his all-round brilliance, Kamran was adjudged man of the match award which was handed over to him by Prof. Manzoor Ahmed, the convenor of Sports committee of Anantnag Degree College.
