ShopianThe District Development Commissioner Shopian today chaired a meeting to review the performance and functioning of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme at Shopian.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Project Officer ICDS, District Informatics Officer, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The DDC sought the date under different categories of age group from Health Statistics & Evaluation, Education and ICDS departments so that implementation of this scheme and other schemes of health and education on girl child are executed properly.
On the occasion the DDC stressed for involving all stakeholders in the programme. The DDC said that awareness programmes should be organized in every tehsil. He directed Chief Medical Officer to ask Ashas and Anganwadi workers to encourage women folk for institutional deliveries and avail benefits of various schemes and also maintain record of pregnant and lactating mothers.
Chief Medical officer informed the chair that the district has a dismal child sex ratio of 1163.
