BandiporaMuhammad Ahsan Ahsan- a noted literary activist and founder member of literary organization Adbi Markaz Kamraz died here on Wednesday after the brief illness.
He was 86 and is survived by widow and a son.
Ahasn was closely associated with the linguist movement led by Adbi Markaz Kamraaz.
In her condolence message, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti recalled the vociferous activism of the deceased for the protection of Kashmiri language and culture. His absence from the literary scene would be felt for long, the Chief Minister, who is also the President of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, said in her statement.
Mehbooba Mufti has conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family of late Ahsan.
Ahsan worked with AMK from the beginning and vociferously advocated the protection of Kashmir language and culture. Ahsan was uncompromising and always spoke his mind.
Muhammad Ahsan was a teacher later joined JKAACL as a research officer.As a president of Halqi Adab Hajin, He contributed his expertise to groom the young poets and scholars. He was a member of Idara-i-Awqaaf Hajin and Patron of Hajini Memorial Public School.
President AMK Dr. Syed Shujaat Bukhari in his condolence message sent from the USA said that the death of Muhammad Ahsan Ahsan is an irreparable loss to the ongoing literary movement led by AMK
Vice President of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) Zafar Iqbal Manhas also condoled the demise of Ahsan.
Condoling the demise of Ahsan, Manhas conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Secretary, JKAACL Dr Aziz Hajini has paid rich tributes to Ahsan.
The Academy also held a condolence meeting at its headquarters this morning in which rich tributes were paid to Ahsan
