SrinagarUnder the initiative of J&K Skill Development Mission, the placement cell of Directorate of Technical Education on Thursday organized a job festival in collaboration with local service providers in the campus of Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Bemina Srinagar.
An official spokesperson said the aim of the festival was to address the unemployment problem among the ITI Graduates
The event was inaugurated by Director Technical Education Shabnum Shah Kamili and was attended by about 500 ITI Graduates concerning with the Trade of Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Plumber, from all across the Kashmir province.
During the festival, 100 candidates have been shortlisted by their respective employers/service providers for placing them in various districts of Kashmir depending upon the requirements of particular districts.
On the occasion, Director Technical Education laid stress on the ITI Graduates for availing the job opportunities availing in private sector for their productive employment. She also emphasized on the Entrepreneurs/service providers to offer reasonable wages to the skilled workforce for their sustainable livelihood.
