SrinagarJammu and Kashmir Electrical Employees Union (JKEEU) Wednesday declared that it will observe seventy-two hour pen down strike from September 12 to press their demands.
This was stated by Union President Mir Abdul Salam Rajpouri while addressing a press conference here in Srinagar.
He said that decision to observe 72 hours strike was taken by the executive body.
He added that the union has been taking up its long pending demands with concerned authorities who had assured redressal of grievances.
Till date no measures were taken to meet the long pending demands. The executive body which met today discussed threadbare the long pending demands and its efforts to get the issues resolved through repeated negotiations with authorities, he said.
Rajpouri said that some of their demands are the creation of additional posts in newly created circles, sanctioning of Risk of Hardship allowance, implementation of Health Insurance for Departmental employees, allocation of designations as per work, immediate implementation of SRO 149 in Department and so on.
Mir Abdul Salam Rajpouri appealed PDD and PDC daily wagers and casual labourers to make the strike a success.
