SrinagarThe airfare between New Delhi and Srinagar on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha has skyrocketed as passengers accuse private airlines of having a field day.
Many passengers planning to travel home from New Delhi and other destinations for celebrating Eid with families said that the flight operators have arbitrarily increased the fare to Srinagar.
I had to travel home from New Delhi. But when I checked the fare it was over Rs 20,000. So I changed my plan and avoided to travel on the festive and important occasion, said Muzaffar Ahmad, a passenger from New Delhi.
He said that he checked the airfare on Thursday and Air India flight to Srinagar scheduled for today charged Rs 22000, Vistara Rs 15000 and Go Air Rs 15000.
The passengers said that the authorities should take a note of the loot by the flight operators and take action against them. (KNS)
