Applicants up in arms against ICDS Anantnag

AnantnagApplicants who applied for the post of Angawadi workers in year 2014 Wednesay were up in arms against the ICDS department in Anantnag alleging that the department is not calling candidates for interview in Kokernag constituency.

Talking to Kashmir observer they said that the Advertisement (Order No CDPO/Brg/014, dated 20/10/2014,)) regarding engagement of Anganwari workers was issued in year 2014 , but still the posts of Anganwardi workers are not filled in constituency.

In year 2014 the government issued an Advertisement notification of Anganwardi workers in District Anantnag constituencies including Kokernag constituency. All constituencies implemented order and filled the vacant posts of Anganwardi workers except Kokernag Constituency, said Showkat Ahmad a resident of the area.

He said that they approached all the concerned officials of ICDS department including Director of ICDS to finalize the selection list of Anganwadi workers adding that they are saying that the selection list is pending due to political interference.

Meanwhile ICDS Kokernag Coordinator Shameema Akhter rebuted the allegations of political interference and said that the programming officer at that time had issued an order to all CDPOS in all constituencies to re advertise the posts in villages where only one or two will applied for this post.

She said that the concerned CDPO of Kokernag didnt re-advertise the posts and that is why the applicants who applied for this post have not been engaged yet.

I have issued a letter to programming officer Anantnag to look into this matter, she added.
