SrinagarKashmir Editors Guild (KEG) met here on Tuesday with President, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo in the chair.
Besides other relevant issues, KEG had a threadbare discussion on the impact of GST over the printing costs of the newspapers.
It was felt that the new tax regime has resulted into a sudden surge in the printing costs including newsprint and other related materials. It has thus made it very difficult for the newspapers to survive with the present selling prices.
It was therefore unanimously decided that there was no other option left but to go for an increase in the selling prices of newspapers.
