JammuA senior Srinagar based journalist visiting Jammu was abused by Circuit House Officer In-charge Puneet Kaur who also refused to accept his official press card.
According to Javed Ahmad Shah, Editor-in-Chief of ‘Good Morning Kashmir’ the officer became furious and started hurling choicest abuses at him after he showed her his Identity card issued by the Department of Information.
Mr Shah who also works for Doordarshan was in Jammu in connection with filming of a documentary on the Higher Education Department. It was the department which had booked two rooms at Circuit House for him and his crew through SM School, Jammu, Shah said.
While checking out I asked them the payment will be made by the SM School since it was the school which had booked the rooms. The officer however refused this and insisted that Shah pay the whole amount before checking out.
“I even got principal of the school on phone who assured them the payment will be made in an hour. She still created a scene” Javed Shah alleged, adding she even threw my I-card away saying she does not recognise such cards, when I told her I am a responsible person”.
Attempts to contact the Circuit House incharge for her version did not materialise.
