SrinagarPro-India opposition parties in the Valley Saturday said that BJP-led government was not taking any political initiatives for resolution of the Kashmir issue and fixing datelines on Kashmir was not going to solve the seven decade old dispute.
Reacting to the Home Minster Rajnath Singhs statement that by 2022, a solution would be found to the Kashmir and other problems like terrorism, Naxalism and North East insurgency, National Conference and Congress parties said that fixing datelines will not solve issues until political initiatives are taken on ground.
Pradesh Congress Committee president, G A Mir said that BJP and its leaders change statements like weather as the party lacks a featured policy on resolving issues.
BJPs existence is based on lies and propaganda. And their leaders change statements like weather, so Congress does not deem worth to react to them. How can we react to lies and propaganda? , Mir said.
For resolving issues, you need to have political and diplomatic policies which BJP is empty of. So, how does it make sense if BJP gives one year or five years deadline for solving of issues, he said.
He said that the unfortunate part is that the PDP is copying their partner. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also sought three months for initiating dialogue and peace process, but on the ground nothing is happening, he said.
National Conference provincial president, Nasir Aslam Wani said that fixing datelines will not solve the issue until political initiatives are taken on ground.
We would want to know what the policy of the GoI is through which they are resolving the issue till these datelines. On the ground, there is no political initiative being taken. So this is mere rhetoric. Prime Minister also said in his Independence Day speech that Kashmiris should be embraced. But what are they doing on the ground in Kashmir, Wani said. (KNS)
