KulgamAdditional District Development Commissioner today inaugurated 3 days Inter District Net Ball under 17 & 19 tournaments here in the Sports Stadium Kulgam. The programme was organized by District Youth Services and Sports department Kulgam.
The tournament saw participation from six net ball teams of different districts including Bandipora, Anantnag, and Kulgam on the first day.
While inaugurating the tournament ADDC, stressed upon the coaches present to encourage development of sports spirit among students so that their physical and mental health is improved. This tournament will strengthen the Inter District relationship among the players he added.
Earlier the District Youth Services Sports Officer Kulgam welcomed the guests. He spoke in detail about the calendar of sports activities done in 2016-17. Net Ball is a new game but is liked widely in J&K he added. On the occasion District Officer DYSS requested the Chief Guest that a fresh circular should come up from District Administration for collection of 50% games fund from schools to keep available at the disposal of Sports department besides the uplift of existing facilities including area expansion, provision of toilet facilities & proper infrastructure development at Sports Stadium Kulgam.
During the Tournament as many as 200 players of Net ball teams of under 17, under 19 boys & girls of different Districts participated in the event. The programme was also attended by Chairman Net ball association J&K, All Zonal Physical Education Officers of Kulgam District, Coaches from districts, & Students of Primary school Rangraaz Pora besides representatives of Information Department, Media People & large public gathering.
