SrinagarHalf a dozen matches were played Saturday in State Cricket Academy T-20 Championship across various districts of the state, a statement from the organizers said.
In Anantnag district fixture, Mattan Reds beat Showkat Sports Bijbehara by seven wickets to make it to the semi-finals. Batting first, Showkat Sports made 155 in the allotted 20 overs with Bashir Afridi making 39. Idrees Dar took three wickets for Mattan Reds.
Powered by Ishtiyaq Rasool’s 49-ball 70, Mattan Reds reached the target in 17.4 overs losing just three wickets. Ishtiyaq was declared man of the match.
The Baderwah district leg of the tournament saw United Cricket Club beat Manhas Cricket Club by four wickets in the first quarter finals. Manhas Cricket Club could manage just 112 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. The target of 113 was chased down easily by United Cricket Club with ten balls to spare. Tayab played a starring role in the chase scoring 53 to get the man of the match award.
In Kulgam district fixture, the game between Burhan Cricket Club and Wild Warriors Ashmuji was won by the latter by 57 runs.
Batting first, Wild Warriors Ashmuji posted a mammoth 197 in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Burhan Cricket Club were restricted to 140.
Nadeem Ahmad from Wild Warriors was chosen man of the match for his match winning 75.
The rest of the fixtures of the day were in progress when reports last came in.
