Srinagar: A private hospital in the outskirts of Srinagar city has been taking patients and attendants for a ride. The hospital authorities have miserably failed to provide basic facilities to patients and the attendants, notwithstanding charging hefty fee from the admitted patients.
A group of attendants whose relatives are presently admitted in Noora Hospital located at Umarabad HMT told news agency CNS that hospital lacks all kinds of facilities while there is not a single fan or cooler even at the reception centre where scores of attendants spend their spared time.
The owner of the Noora Hospital charge Rs 1600 for a night and yet attendants and patients are being deprived of basic facilities. There is no proper sanitation facilities and nursing care, they said.
The attendants said that despite repeated pleas to the owner to upgrade the facilities in the hospital, he doesnt give heed. His insolent and haughty behavior frustrates every complainant, they said.
When contacted, the owner of the hospital said that it is the job of the Director Health to inspect any hospital. Attendants should contact Direct Health Services, whom I know very well, he said and added that he cant provide every facility to the attendants.
Despite repeated attempts, Direct Health Services Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman could not be contacted. (CNS)
