SRINAGAR: After failure of talks between Kashmir Bread Makers Association (KBMA) and Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAPD) authorities, KBMA has issued its own rate list raising the price of tandoori bread to five rupees.
The breadmakers have also threatened the government with valley wide protests if the authorities fail to approve their new rate list.
Sources said that talks between KBMA representatives and CAPD authorities concluded without reaching to any conclusion. Representatives of KBMA in the meeting informed the authorities about their demands but they alleged that the officials showed no seriousness to resolve the matter.
Weve decided to hike the price and any bread makers, found violating the new rate list of the association, will be dealt with strictly, KBMA said.
They asked the authorities to either sanction the price hike or face Valley wide agitation.
