SrinagarThe Hajj pilgrims supposed to go for pilgrimage this year Friday alleged that authorities have miserably failed to provide any facilities to them during training program.
Scores of pilgrims from Srinagar city attended training program at Hajj House Srinagar on Thursday. They told news agency CNS that authorities had rented a hall to private persons for conducting marriage ceremony there while pilgrims were trained in open.
It is surprising that on the day of training, authorities had rented the hall to an individual. We were treated like cattle. Even substandard food was served to. A number of pilgrims didnt eat the stale food, they said.
They said the Hajj House authorities loot pilgrims and find new ways and means to grab money from them. They are not doing any favour to pilgrims as we have been paying to them for the facilities they are supposed to provide to us, they said.
When contacted a Hajj official said that training was given in another hall and next time they will make it sure hall is not rented to any party on the day of training. (CNS)
