Srinagar: Two persons were killed when the car they were traveling in skidded off the road and landed into a deep gorge near Jathi area on Doda-Jammu road in the jurisdiction of police station Assar.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02V-1227 was on its way from Jammu to Gundoh, when the driver failed to negotiate at a sharp curve and the vehicle plunged into gorge near Jathi area resulting into on the spot death of two persons.
Police officials and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies to Community Health Center, Assar . The deceased have been identified as Anayat Hussssin son of Late Gh Nabi Ratter and Muhammad Sohail son of Gh Hussain, both residents of Changa Bhalessa.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to family members after completing medical and legal formalities. A case in this regard has been registered at Assar police station and investigation has been started.
