SrinagarNew Bonvivant High School, a premier educational institution in the old city, organised sports events for students and parents, a day before school closed for Summer Break here on Wednesday.
Scores of parents joined children who took part in various sports activities at the school premises situated on Eidgah-Hawal Link Road from early on Wednesday.
Children from primary classes enthusiastically cheered their mothers who joined a tug of war event. Students also took part in a number of sports and fun activities enlivening the atmosphere in otherwise gloomy period when most parts of the old city were again barricaded and people confined to homes following imposition of restrictions.
Kashmir Observer Editor-in-Chief Sajjad Haider was chief guest on the occasion. He exhorted teachers present there, to put in their best for for overall development of children.
Selfless teachers are builders of great societies, he said adding in Kashmir challenge before teaching community was bigger than anywhere else. Principle of the School Mr Nazir Ahmad thanked participants and assured quality education which encompasses literary excellence and mental development of the students.
