SRINAGAR: The 300-kilometer Jammu-Srinagar national highway was on Tuesday blocked due to major landslide in Ramban district.
Over 200 vehicles were stranded on both sides of the route due to a major landslide triggered by rains in Seri belt of Ramban on Tuesday evening, a police officer said.
Border Roads Organisation, which maintains the national highway, started its effort to clear the landslide and restore vehicular traffic on the route.
On December 16, the route had been reopened for one-way traffic after it remained blocked for three days due to snowfall and landslides, and more than 2,000 stranded vehicles were cleared on the day.
