SrinagarAll four J&K players who were signed by Mohammedan Sporting Club one of the Indias premier footballs club in domestic circuit- had their maiden training session with their new club on Friday.
Four young footballers-all from Srinagar based Lone Star Kashmir Football Club-were signed by Kolkata soccer giants Mohammedan Sporting Club had made headlines as it was after a longtime a batch of young players were able to pocket contracts with such a big club.
The foursome Iffam Tariq, Arun Nagial, Akif Reshi and Harpreet had impressed scouts from Mohammedan Sporting Club during their LSKFC stint in second division of the I-League.
According to the reports in a local sports website, players have got their jersey numbers and will be soon in action when the club takes part in local tournaments.
Football fraternity has termed the development as a major boost for J&K football. Jammu and Kashmir Football Association congratulated the players and hoped it will encourage more and more players to work harder so that they are able to make big in the sport.
Lone Star Kashmir Football Club coach Hilala Rasool Parray sounded a happy man to see his wards make a big jump and expected the players to learn lot from playing with great players in a great club.
They will be playing alongside some of the big names of Indian football. Kolkatta league is one of the toughest leagues around and players will get big exposure in it, he was quoted as saying by Kashmirsportswatch.com
