In a statement, Hurriyat Conference (M) said since morning of Jumat-ul-Vida (last Friday of Ramazan), Mirwaiz continues to be under house detention. He said repeatedly restrictions and curfews are imposed in downtown areas of Srinagar and Friday congregational prayers are barred at the historic Jamia Masjid, which is part of the plan to punish the people of these areas. Such moves further aggravate the hostility towards those who are used as tools to implement the policy of oppression by the ruling regime and lead to disastrous consequences.
Hurriyat (M) said that while muzzling of genuine political rights of Kashmiris is in full swing, the ruling regime is breaking records to curb and crush their religious rights too through brute force. Resorting to such repressive moves and then justifying them under the garb of maintaining “peace” has become the norm with this regime and the only language speaks it speaks in to people is the language of forcefully locking down mosques or centers of learning i.e. our school and colleges in the name of peace keeping their masters in New Delhi in a good humour to safeguard its chair.
Meanwhile, the spokesman strongly condemned the detention of APHC senior leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and lodging him in police station Sherbagh, Islamabad, since past many days. The spokesman said many leaders and youth are lodged in various prisons across the State among which many are suffering from multiple ailments and for want of medical care if anything happens to them, the entire blame will lie on the State government. The spokesman demanded immediate release of all Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth lodged in various Jails, in the state and outside.
