Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday said that clubbing Kashmirs legitimated struggle with terrorism was totally unjustified and unacceptable.
Kashmiris are fighting for a just and democratic cause. Our struggle is a democratic struggle which in all purposes is in accordance with international laws, UN charter and resolutions acknowledged by all international covenants and forums. Therefore, clubbing this legitimated struggle with terrorism is totally unjustified and unacceptable.
Condemning the fresh wave of arbitrary crackdowns on resistance camp, resistance activists and youth in general by state agencies, Malik said that every little space for peaceful political activities has been choked by India and the state government under the garb of maintaining peace was surprising the peoples resistance. Malik accused international community of maintaining criminal silence only to safeguard economic interests with India hence legitimizing state sponsored terrorism in Kashmir.
On the US decision of declaring Syed Salah-ud-din as a global terrorist, Malik said that US and the rest of international community is well aware that for the past 70 years, the people of Kashmir are engaged in a long and peaceful struggle for achieving their basic human and political right the right to freedom and right to self-determination.
He said that this right is guaranteed by the United Nations charter and resolutions, but ruthlessly suppressed by the Indian State through use of extreme force.
Malik said that, Instead of condemning the ongoing oppression on the people of Jammu Kashmir and acknowledging the legitimacy of Kashmiri struggle for freedom, the US government has strangely chosen to club our freedom struggle with terrorism, which is most unfortunate.
