SrinagarClashes between government forces and civilians protesters were witnessed on Monday after the culmination of Eid Prayers from many areas of the Valley.
Reports said that over a dozen protesters were injured in clashes with government forces in Sopore township of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
Clashes erupted after forces resorted to teargas shelling and pellet firing after scores of protesters tried to march towards the main chowk from Eidgah, said reports.
Sourcers said that over ten protesters sustained pellet injuries and were shifted to Sub-district Hospital Sopore for treatment.
Meanwhile in south Kashmir’s Anantnag township after Eid prayers clashes erupted after protesters took on forces in Janglat Mandi area of the town.
Several civilians and some police personnels were injured during clashes
The clashes then spread to adjoining Achabal area of the district.
Clashes also broke out in Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama towns in southern Kashmir.
Police had to fire tear gas shells in Srinagar, where two Central Reserve Police Force soldiers suffered injuries after being hit by stones.
