Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Thursday alleged that the government forces were barring people from offering prayers in mosques, that too during the sacred month of Ramazan.
These forces out of their insensitivity and arrogance dont even allow people to offer their prayers, Geelani said in a statement.
We wont tolerate this extreme bullying and harassment, Geelani said.
We vehemently condemn this act being devoid of all human and moral justification besides a blatant violation of all the fundamental human rights. It tantamount to interference in our religious matters, Geelani added.
Expressing concern about setting up of new and more forces camps in Tral, Geelani said that it is highly condemnable.
While referring to the protest demonstration of people in Tral against forces camp, Geelani said that we support their demand for shifting of forces camp.
He said that more than one thousand such camps in civilian areas are source of strain and nuisance.
Blaming forces personnel of these camps, Geelani said that they create needless interference in routine work of adjacent population.
Geelani stressed his demand and called immediate shifting of camps located in civilian lines and said that establishing these camps in civilian areas is against international norms and tantamount to rights violation, added Geelani.
